PRINTED IN EVERY BOOK:
Welcome to the Elves Up North!
Suggestions from The Author:
This book has been designed "different" from most. It can be used as a platform to allow imaginations to run free.
In reading, the speaker can sometimes choose from 3 options:
CHOOSE ONE: Option A- Continue reading the black print for a traditional read.
Option B- Allows listeners to "participate" while remaining seated.
Option C- “Lets imaginations soar!” This can help wear children out in a productive and memorable way when they are full of energy.
You can "Mix & Match" options without changing the story. This will help keep it "fresh", regardless of how many times it’s read.
Not able to finish the entire book in one session? There are 6 chapters. Each one ends with suggestions to keep the “magic” going and promote sweet dreams should you stop there for the night. Feel free to use these or create your own. Again, these are suggestions and do not affect the outcome.
Reading to more than one person? Allow all time to answer questions and complete tasks before continuing so every individual can feel “heard”.
Anyone unable to do the steps in Option C ? Come up with other tasks you know they can accomplish. (Shut your eyes, nod your head 3 times, stick out your tongue - anything you can think of to make this adventure fun!)
Use YOUR Imagination!!! Substitute your own tasks. (Dash into the kitchen to open and shut the silverware drawer 2 times, skip or run around the house, do 10 jumping jacks, etc.) Just make certain the children feel good about doing the goals and they can be easily achieved.
Other fun "twists" -
- Have listeners touch their ear every time they hear the word "ELF”
- Have them touch their nose every time "Misty" the mouse speaks.
The possibilities are endless!
Above all, HAVE FUN! If you come up with any interesting things to do while telling this story, let me know at "CONTACT ME" tab above. I’d LOVE to hear from you!
Wishing you all the best,
